On Saturday evening I had the great honour to moderate a panel of inspiring young leaders who came to Nanaimo from England, California and Toronto to share their story to an eager crowd of business leaders, students and faculty from Vancouver Island University.
Through the lively discussion with the panelists consistent themes emerged being
- The need to believe in yourself.
- To not be afraid of failure.
- That through struggle comes your greatest growth.
- To not be afraid to admit you do not have all the answers to seek support.
- The power of those who believe in you to mentor you along your journey.
- To help empower others along your journey.
The panelists #Vijay Jeyapalan, #Rishi Chowdhury, #Kait Asquini, and #Brandon Martinez all expressed how much they enjoyed their time in Nanaimo, how impressed they were with the area and the amazing energy of the students that make up Vancouver Island University.
