Barkley Project Group are project managers specializing in renewable energy development and community energy systems. Since 2003, they have provided the capacity and support needed for communities and developers to navigate the entire renewable energy development process, from idea to operation.
Founders Iain Cuthbert and John Ebell made the move from environmental consulting to clean energy after seeing the need for a one-stop-shop in the renewable energy industry in BC. Engineering and consulting firms typically concentrate on one or two aspects of renewable energy development. Barkley Project Group builds and leads project teams with the expertise needed for each stage of development. They are one company that can deliver an entire project.
Barkley Project Group is uniquely positioned – both professionally and geographically – to serve clientele in remote communities on Vancouver Island and the Central Coast. With an office located in Nanaimo, BC, staff have more direct access to remote communities that are only accessible by gravel road, boat or floatplane than firms located on the mainland. In addition, they have attracted highly-skilled and diverse team members from across the country due to the cost of living and lifestyle on Vancouver Island and the burgeoning clean energy industry in BC.
