Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) have seen the benefits of Nanaimo to locate its first office on Vancouver Island.
History of KCB
Formed in 1951, Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) has a long history of participating in some of the largest and most challenging engineering projects in the world. For close to 70 years, KCB has achieved a global reputation for technical excellence in the hydropower, mining, transportation, infrastructure and energy sectors.
Branching Out to Nanaimo
KCB has offices and projects around the globe – from the United Kingdom to Brazil to Australia – but the head office in Vancouver has always been the primary hub for British Columbia. Now a Nanaimo branch has been opened at 203 – 5190 Dublin Way to accommodate staff who have moved out of Vancouver or other major centres, and to increase KCB’s reach to the talented professional staff currently living in and around Nanaimo.
KCB’s current Nanaimo staff have all re-located over the years from other parts of BC to enjoy the more relaxed Island pace of life, lower cost of living, and outstanding recreational activities here. They particularly enjoy their short commutes, which allow more time spent with family and friends enjoying activities such as kayaking, sailing, and hiking. With many local parks and beaches, and world-class experiences only a short drive away in locations like Tofino and Mount Washington, there is always something to do…or a beautiful place in which to do nothing!
International Reach
Technological advances have made collaborating with clients, staff and other stakeholders across the globe not only feasible, but simple and effective. With Vancouver and Victoria close by, KCB staff can travel abroad for international projects as needed and return to Nanaimo with ease.
The new Nanaimo team is excited to carry on KCB’s long tradition of professional excellence in the place they have all chosen to call home. Qualified senior engineers interested in joining the team are invited to visit the KCB Careers page or contact jobenquiries@klohn.com.
